The
Listen to Your Mother Show videos are up on YouTube! What does this mean? It means if you have 5 minutes you can click on one of over 140 hilarious and heartwarming readings about what it's like to mother or be mothered and be entertained and uplifted - Hooray!
I wrote a bit about my experience in the NYC production here:
Listen to Your Mother Show recap (but I'm saving the full story for the
book - oh yes, there's a story behind that smile...)
I couldn't be more proud of the NYC cast, a group of 15 writers, bloggers, actors, mothers, daughters and one son. They'll make you laugh and cry, and demand a reunion tour. Here's the

My
6-minute piece "The Cookie Jar" is one of my favorite stories about G and R. I started telling it many years ago, hoping to turn it into a children's book. That manuscript did not find a publisher then. Turns out, it was waiting for this moment, in front of this audience, to take flight instead.
"This is funny!" G said, watching the video. "This is a good story!" Well, of course it is, I thought. It's about two of the funniest girls I know!
Just shared the link to The Cookie Jar on my blog facebook page - really enjoyed it today! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteKelly, thank you so much, and I just shared your post about China's left behind children on my FB page - it really hit me in the heart. http://www.myoverthinking.com/2012/09/chinas-left-behind-children.html
